Mingenew Primary School was established in 1894 in the farming community of Mingenew in Western Australia. The mainstay ethos, ‘Pride and Persistence,’ continues while we provide a contemporary curriculum to deliver high-impact, public education to all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Our school overlooks the township with a clear view to the majestic Mingenew Hill where wildflowers are abounding. We have a strong, connected, inclusive school community which is an integral part of our very supportive wider community.
We aim to create a learning environment where children, staff, and families feel a strong sense of belonging and compassion, fostering pride and persistence in all that we do.
By working collaboratively, we seek to ensure that everyone achieves the best outcomes for all children and our community.
Mingenew Primary School is a place where every child is valued and supported to maximise their learning outcomes.
We aim to provide an inclusive, safe and responsive environment where students can grow academically, socially and personally. Our staff work as a team to implement high-quality learning programs with a strong focus on effective instruction. We believe in the power of community and the importance of working together to support staff, students and their families to feel a sense of pride in their achievements and a strong feeling of connection and belonging to each other.
We encourage families to actively engage in thier child’s education and work in a positive partnership with the school. We value what each child and their family bring to our school and aim for it to be a place that we can all be proud of.

Our Strategic Plan prioritises actions that support our commitment to ensuring a culture that promotes success for all students, where they can strive for excellence within thriving learning environments. Integral to this is our whole-school approach to evidence-based, high-impact pedagogy and high expectations for staff and students. We are continuously seeking growth in student achievement. This is always central in our decision-making processes and evaluated through our self-review and highlighted in our Annual Report.
We continue to put your child’s needs first by building a positive school environment where children thrive. Our efforts are lead by our guiding principles, outlined below:
