Our School

Mingenew Primary School was established in 1894 in the farming community of Mingenew in Western Australia. The mainstay ethos,  ‘Pride and Persistence,’ continues while we provide a contemporary curriculum to deliver high-impact, public education to all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Our school overlooks the township with a clear view to the majestic Mingenew Hill where wildflowers are abounding. We have a strong, connected, inclusive school community which is an integral part of our very supportive wider community.

From Our Principal

At Mingenew Primary School, we have collaborative, dedicated, student-centred staff who are committed to ensuring they are creating impactful learning environments to ensure students are provided with every opportunity to achieve their best.

We work in harmony with our School Council, P&C and wider community so that Mingenew Primary School is celebrated as the school of choice in our rural area. We value the strong partnership with our wonderful community who nutures and supports our development and growth. Our active P&C has been instrumental in assisting the school to become well-resourced in technology and recently funded our awesome nature playground. We work collaboratively with our School Council who supports our strategic development by assisting to identify planning priorities and to set future directions.

Our students embrace our school creed of ‘Pride and Persistence’ which is steeped in the proud history of our school. We have an embedded culture of Positive Behaviour Support that promotes safe, productive procedures and actions as well as acknowledges and rewards productive behaviours. This contributes to the friendly, caring nature of our school.

I encourage all our families to be actively involved in their child’s educational journey at our wonderful, inclusive school.

Our Strategic Plan prioritises actions that support our commitment to ensuring a culture that promotes success for all students, where they can strive for excellence within thriving learning environments. Integral to this is our whole-school approach to evidence-based, high-impact pedagogy and high expectations for staff and students. We are continuously seeking growth in student achievement. This is always central in our decision-making processes and evaluated through our self-review and highlighted in our Annual Report.
